Frequently asked questions

What is CBM and how is it calculated?

CBM stands for Cubic Meter, a volume measurement used mainly in shipping and freight. It is calculated by multiplying the Length, Width, and Height of an item, in meters: CBM = Length x Width x Height. Multiply by quantity when shipping several identical items. Use the CBM calculator under the CBM / Volume category (now including millimeters) to work this out automatically.

How do I convert units using this tool?

Use the search box or scroll the sidebar to pick a category, enter a value, choose your starting unit, then choose the target unit. The result updates automatically as you type.

Is this unit converter free to use?

Yes. It's completely free, runs entirely in your browser, and needs no sign-up or install.

Are the currency exchange rates live?

No - currency rates here are indicative approximations, not live market data. Always verify against a live financial source before making decisions.

Is the Indian salary/CTC calculator exact for income tax?

No. It gives an approximate CTC breakup (Basic, HRA, employer/employee PF, gratuity, professional tax) using common, editable industry defaults. It does not compute income tax, which depends on your chosen regime and personal deductions.

How accurate are the conversions?

Standard conversions use precise conversion factors and full floating-point calculation, displayed to six significant figures for clarity.

Values computed to full float precision, displayed to 6 significant figures. Currency and salary figures are indicative estimates, not financial advice.
