Sholay History Before Sholay 3D

Sholay – A name stands with a new definition of success. Today on 3^Rd January 2014 the 3D version of Sholay is in theaters. Let's remember again interesting facts of unforgettable scenes and dialogues. The movie Sholay was released on 15^Th August 1975. The movie staring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Jaya Bhaduri (Bachchan), Hema Malini, Amjad Khan, Sanjeev Kumar, produced by G. P. Sippy and directed by Ramesh Sippy. Most of readers might have seen the movie much time but now here some facts are presented against you and for that I can say, "You might not aware!!!" So let's see what you know and what not.

The movie launched in Oct-1973 and released on 15-Aug.-1975, means the shoot took two and half year for reaching to the theaters. That time the budget of movie was only three crores. Sholay was shoot the same scene in two sets of negatives, one in 70MM and second was of 35MM and due to this every scene shoot for two times. Sholay was the first film in bollywood which was shown more than 25 weeks in more than 1000 theaters in India. It was India's first 70MM movie with stereophonic sound.

There are too many changes happened before release of Sholay, like selection of directors and actors. Writers of Sholay, Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan first insisted that time successful director Manmohan Desai but he decline as he was busy with his another project. Characters of the movie were mostly relevant to the writers or that time society. Jai and Veeru were Salim Khan's college friends and Thakur Baldev Singh is a name of his Father in Law. Villain name came from the original dacoit in 1950's in Gwalior area. He was very cruel as per record and Soorma was a Forest officer in Madhya Pradesh. Shatrughan Sinha was considered for character of Jai initially but finally it was played by Amitabh Bachchan. Dharmendra dreamed to play the character of Thakur but when he read full script than decided to play Veeru as Basanti was finally coming to Veeru. Danny was finalized for Gabbar Singh but due to his busyness the character came to Amjad Khan. Actually Amjad Khan was sujjested by Javed Akhtar and he made history. Yes, we know Gabbar Singh a great villain of bollywood era but it is also fact that there are only nine scenes in entire movie of the character and Mac Mohan played Sambha character has only one line dialogue in movie still that is remembered.

One of the interesting facts of delay in shooting is, Jaya was pregnant with Sweta as Amitabh and Jaya married only before four months of the movie begun. Dharmendra and Hema Malini married after five years of release of Sholay. The movie filmed mostly in Ramanagara town, 50 Kms away from Bangalore. It became a tourist place after Sholay declared hit.

There are more to say like, the train robbery was shot on Mumbai-Pune track near Panvel, The bullets were used were original in several scenes, but in mood of "Will Say Later!!!"

Bollywood Second Weddings

The line "Everything is fare in Love and War" is very suitable for Bollywood Actors. Love after marriage is not new matter in BTown. Lets talk about famous second marriages of Bollywood.

Starting from the recent hot and well discussed in media marriage is of Chhote Navab of Bollywood. Yes, Saif and Kareena was in relationship since 2007 and finally Got married in 2012. In fact it was obviously first marriage for Kareena but not same for her companion Saif. Saif married with Amrita Singh a long back in 1991 and had son and daughter named Ibrahim and Sara and then they both separated in 2004 as this was his second marriage with Kareena. Amrita Singh is single since then.

Another well discussed matter of second marriage is of "Mr. Perfectionist' of Bollywood. Aamir Khan married his childhood friend Reena. They made their love story successful with marriage and being parents of two childrens Junaid and Ira. After their divorce Aamir married with Kiran Rao, who was assistant director during his ambitious project "Lagaan" in 2005. Now they have a Son named Azad.

It was also happening in retro time. Heman Dharmendra was already married with Prakash Kaur and had two children Sunny and Bobby. Dharmendra fell in deep love of Hema Malini on the set of "Tum Haseen Main Jawan". They converted themselves in Islam as Prakash Kaur was not keen on giving him a divorce. After 32 Year marriage life they are having two daughters named Esha and Ahana.

In a time of Bollywood one of the biggest producers Boney Kapoor also became second time Husband. Boney was already married with Mona for 8 years and having two children Arjun and Anshula. After their divorce in 1996 he married Super Star Sridevi. Both having two daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi. Boney produced a movie Khushi on his daughter's name.

Again from the said first family of Bollywood The Kapoor's Khandan. The same story like Kareena, it was first marriage for Karishma but not same for her companion Sanjay Kapoor. Sanjay is a businessman established himself in delhi was already married with designer and socialite Nandita Mahtani but after divorce he married Karishma in 2003. Now they having two children, Samaira and Kiaan.

One of the hot and sexy babe of Bollywood Shilpa Shetty also choose a divorced businessmen Raj Kundra as her companion. Raj was married to Kavita Kundra and had a daughter. As like Kareena and Karishma this was continue in this story as it was first time for Shilpa but not for her husband Raj. They recently blessed with a baby boy.
 

Sanjay Dutt is a superstar who never behave like others to be in discussion in media. Since his name came out in 1992 blast he became more sincere for his career and society. He is well known with his nick name Sanju Baba not even only in Bollywood but in Country. He married with Richa Sharma in 1987. They had a daughter named Trishala. After Richa's death Baba married Rhea Pillai in 1998 but due to their own reasons they divorced in 2005. Again Sanju Baba married with Manyata in 2008. They blessed with a Boy and a Girl as twin in 2010.

A supper hot actress of Bollywood Raveena Tondon married with a film distributor Anil Thandani in 2004. As usual it was first time for her but not for her companion. Anil married with Natasha Sippy a daughter of famous producer Romu Sippy. Raveena and Anil have two children, girl Rasha in 2005 and boy Ranbir in 2007.

  

A well known script writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar married with Honey Irani. Javed and Honey had two children, well known actor and director Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. After divorce from Irani, he married actress Shabana Azmi, the daughter of another Urdu poet, Kaifi Azmi in 1984. Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi are most vocal and socially active couple in BTown industry.

A grace hero and super star Raj Babbar was married to Nadira Zaheer and had two children, Arya and Juhi. After then Raj married with Smita Patil. Their marriage and relations was very controversial. Smita died after two weeks after the birth of Prateik. Now he is with his first wife Nadira.
